TThis reconditioned Steinway has great action and a terrific sound. Action parts are only a few years old: NY Steinway hammers, Renner reps, shanks, and damper felt. Fully regulated and voiced. The white key tops were recovered this year and the ebony keys were refinished. We stripped the crackled varnish from the case to reveal a richly figured veneer. (It looks like rosewood; though it may be a special mahogany.) To keep the price well below $20K, we did not refinish it. But with the new brass hardware (pedals, hinges, etc.) it looks very good as-is. Of course, we can refinish the piano for any buyer wishing to pay for the work. Original 1923 soundboard and pin block, both in good condition. Minor splits, but no shims in the soundboard. The tuning pins are snug and have not been driven. We installed rubber double-casters. Easy to roll and safe for any floor. Will substitute brass casters if preferred. Price includes a normal ground floor delivery within 50 miles, climate control system, and one onsite tuning.
